Bivaas Baral

Full-stack developer · frontend-focused · security-aware

Who I am

I’m Bivaas Baral. I make things and put them online.

Full-stack developer in Biratnagar, Nepal. Mostly React and Next.js at the front, Node.js and MongoDB behind it. I started Everest Hack Club, and my team won Daydream Biratnagar 2025.

For about two years I’ve been building web applications, the kind that end up in front of real people rather than sitting on my own machine. I look after the logins, the encryption and the deploys as well, mostly because on my projects there isn’t anyone else to hand them to.

In August 2025 I started Everest Hack Club, an official Hack Club chapter here in Biratnagar. It’s free, it’s run by teenagers, and it works on one loop: build something small, show it at the weekly meetup, ship it, start the next one.

In September 2025, Arniko Hack Club ran Daydream Biratnagar 2025. 24 hours, a theme nobody sees until the start, and more than 250 people in one room. There were two of us on Team Alpha. We built Echo Trails, a map of verified local services for visitors to Nepal, and it won. I’ve written that one up.

In August 2026 I flew to Singapore for Horizons Arcana, Hack Club’s Horizons hackathon for Asia. You don’t register for that one, you qualify for it, and I did. We built 6 7, a game you play with a webcam instead of a keyboard. Hand-gesture recognition maps the 6 7 emote to firing, and head-pose tracking moves your character as you lean. The theme we were handed was a photograph of a door marked room 0607, so we took the zeros out.

I hold the APIsec Certified Practitioner certification, I write here occasionally, and I’m open to freelance and full-time work. The rest of what I’ve built is on my main site at bivaasbaral.com.np.
